The Fundació Glòria Soler, together with the Fundació Suñol, initiates a collaboration in the field of art and citizenship with the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona.
Last June the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona was inaugurated and as a sign of appreciation and recognition of the work of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, its professionals, volunteers, families and especially all its brave people, the Fundació Glòria Soler and the Fundació Suñol begin a collaboration with the transfer of the work L’estany by the artist Albert Ràfols-Casamada, which forms part of the Suñol Soler Collection.
Together with the Sant Joan de Déu team, both foundations will cocreate an educational and informative program around this work that will materialize in the coming months, with the organization of the first face-to-face workshops at the hospital.
The Glòria Soler Foundation and the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital have a long history of joint collaboration, having promoted projects such as the consolidation of the Pediatric Intensive Care Program or the SOM360 Mental Health Platform, which aims to be a national and international benchmark in mental health issues.
The Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona of the Hospital San Joan de Déu (HSJD) is a new monographic center at the service of children and adolescents with cancer and their families. The facility concentrates, in a common space, healthcare services aimed at patients with developing cancer, as well as spaces dedicated to research. The objective is to provide more effective, efficient and adequate care to a large volume of patients, more than 400 new patients a year, with the highly specialized team of the Oncology Department of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona.
