The Parc Sanitari de Sant Joan de Déu, the Fundació Glòria Soler and the Fundació Suñol, in collaboration with Broomx, present ‘Mental State. Cartographies of identity‘, an immersive experience created from the creative universe of the artist Zush/Evru and which has involved a collective process of co-creation in which, in addition to the aforementioned institutions, people with mental health problems have participated, offering a dreamlike journey that explores the alliances between the arts, health and the community.
The project was initially carried out at Torrents d’Art, an initiative that since 2015 has been supported by the Glòria Soler Foundation, as a space for exchange and encounter between art and mental health within the Part Sanitari de San Joan de Deu in Sant Boi.
The work from the Suñol Soler Collection ‘The world of the comparable baserds’ (1978-1979) by Zush is taken as a reference which, in the form of a creative diary, gives us access to a rich and diverse symbolic cosmogony. A process of co-creation is articulated around this universe in which users of mental health care services and different artists, with the participation of Zush, identify the most singular elements and how they enter into dialogue with individual and collective emotions.
The result of this multisensory exploration is presented in the format of an immersive video show, in a 360º space and for virtual reality glasses, aimed at the general public, but with a special focus on young people and vulnerable groups.
