Throughout March and April, at the headquarters of the Fundació Suñol and the Fundació Glòria Soler, the sessions of the research project MORTALS+, a project developed by the artist Albert Potrony and the cultural manager and mediator Roser Sanjuan, will be held, where the research project explores the subject of HIV/Aids, bringing together the scientific and the humanistic.
The project arises within the framework of a long history of involvement of Josep Suñol Soler, founder of the Fundació Suñol and the Fundació Glòria Soler, in the financing of scientific research projects in the field of HIV/AIDS, especially the therapeutic vaccine HTI in collaboration with IrsiCaixa. MORTALES+ continues this legacy, linking the disease with artistic creation to generate new perspectives on its social perception.
Establishing links between the artists and the community, the project involves the collaboration of three leading health and research professionals:
Dr. Daniel Podzamczer: HIV specialist, founder and head of the HIV unit at Bellvitge Hospital in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).

Another of the key pieces of this project is the Suñol Soler Collection itself, through a careful selection of works with a thematic, chronological or contextual relationship, which become catalysts for debates around the recovery of the collective imaginary linked to the disease.
MORTALES+ takes place at the Fundació Suñol and the Fundació Glòria Soler and aims to develop the same methodology used by MORTALS (2020-2024), valuing all kinds of knowledge and experiences (community, academic, professional or vital) as a starting point for research and collective creation.
